Lisa G. Carlson has been an artist and a fulltime art educator.  As an artist, her work was recognized in the nationally known magazine Ceramics Monthly, and Houston Home and Gardens. Carlson Clayworks delivered ceramics to galleries and shops nationwide for 18 years.  After completing her Master’s in Education, she taught art for Las Cruces Public Schools for 16 years.  During this time, she was the Art Director for four schoolwide tile murals in Fairacres Elementary, Conley Elementary, Mesilla Valley Training Center, and Mesa Middle schools.  Ms. Carlson is enjoying her “encore” career designing jewelry and tile art in a wide variety of expressions.  The name TKjewelsNM came from my mentor’s nickname for her, Tough Kid!
